The legendary Mille Miglia is a name that all car enthusiasts know as the most famous road race in the world. This book, compiled by an enthusiast Alberto Redaelli, is not the work of an historian, but a trip through a selection of private memories which outline the legend of the race, with a varied selection of photographs covering both the pre and post war era. Specific years have been given a focus, those being 1930 with Nuvolari and the 1750 Alfa Romeo, 1940 and BMW with the 328 Coupe, the Ferrari success of 1948, and finally 1955 and the remarkable victory of Stirling Moss and Dennis Jenkinson in the Mercedes. The concluding pages to the book illustrate that the magic of the event is still alive with a colour photographic selection of Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Maserati, Mercedes and Bugatti entrants in the retrospective events of the late 1980s. The book is bound in a silk type cloth with bronze medallion affixed to the front cover illustrating a pre war Alfa Romeo, and the logos of Mercedes, Alfa Romeo, Ferrari and BMW.
