Prince Birabongse began motor racing in 1935. It was not until 1936 under the management of his cousin and the author of this book, Chula Chakrabongse, that he was launched on a full season. This book was written during the winter following the 1936 season and attempts to describe as fully as possible the first full season of the beginner. The original version published in 1937 was privately published by Chula Chakrabongse as a limited edition with the primary intention of being for family and friends, although a small number were sold to the public for the benefit of motor racing enthusiasts. This edition has been printed at the request of the publisher and the agreement of Chula Chakrabongse for the benefit of a wider audience. The text is superbly illustrated with period photography.
