This book is the outcome of a study of genuine Grand Prix racing and comprises a vast amount of information obtained first hand as to the organization and maintenance of the Mercedes-Benz team. George Monkhouse was permitted to visit the racing department at Stuttgart and is therefore able to give details of design and construction of the Grand Prix racing cars, which he has explained and discussed from a semi-technical point of view. This is the enlarged second edition which has been extended to include the 1938 and 1939 seasons. There is a superb collection of period photographs.
