The only biography ever written on 1920s speed king Jimmy Murphy. He started as a racing car mechanic at the age of 21 and went onto become one of the best drivers in his day. He won more races on the board tracks of the 1920s than anyone else. He also won the 1921 French Grand Prix and the 1922 Indianapolis 500. He raced Duesenberg and Miller cars. This book is about Murphy’s life, the atmosphere of the 1920s and the other driver personalities and car builders of the time. The book is illustrated with approximately 300 photographs and 50 drawings and paintings about Murphy’s life and motor racing in the 1920s.
