The most active class of motor racing during the 1930s was probably the voiturette class for racing cars up to 1500cc. It was a class in which British cars gained many victories between 1931 and 1940. This is the story of the racing in that class in the years which ended in World War II. Beginning with the Amilcars and Bugattis, developing with the ERAs and Maseratis of the mid-30s and finishing on the high note of the Alfa Romeos and Mercedes-Benz at Tripoli in 1939, the book contains much information which has not been published previously and many of the 200 photographs have not been seen before. There are technical details of the competing cars, biographical notes of the leading drivers such as B.Bira, Franco Cortese, Pat Fairfield, Earl Howe, and complete results of all the races with 45 circuit maps illustrating venues such as Albi, Avus, Bardo, Chimay, Dieppe, Genoa, Modena, Nice and Turin.
