Audi Sport World of Rallying 7 tells you about the 1984 season of international rallying, the year when the Audi team gained a world title for the third consecutive year. World of Rallying has become the world's most famous and longest running rallying annual and is accepted as the most reliable source of rally information available. They are the only place where you can find out what happens in every rallying country of the world. So much of the success of Martin Holmes’ books is due to the dedication of the people who work behind the scenes. With tireless research undertaken by Kevin Gormley and endless coordination by Ursula Partridge the book is systematically assembled during the year. Their work in turn is only possible with the help of their many contributors in the various rallying countries through the world. As well as the main focus on Rallying, there are also chapters on other sideline topics; favourite rally photos by the likes of Tony North, Michel Morelli, Tamotsu Futamura, Romano Poli, Francisco Romeiras, Willy Weyens and Gerhard Dieter Wagner; a look at the traction revolution, a week at Pikes Peak hill climb in the United States and details of world class drivers and their past event results, with competitors such as: Markku Alen, Per Eklund, Mannu Mikkola, Michele Mouton etc… There are the Rally Car Prototypes: Ford S200, Mitsubishi Starion 4WD, Opel Kadett 400, Lancia Delta S4, Skoda, and the Rally Cars Groups B & A from Audi, Peugeot, Mazda, Toyota, Volvo and VW and their specifications. The results information is of course one of the reasons that this series of books is so well thought of, giving overall results for the Monte Carlo, International Swedish Rally, Rallye de Portugal, Kenya and the Safari Rally, France with the Tour de Corse, Greece and the Acropolis Rally, Rally of New Zealand, Rally of Argentian, Finland and the 1000 Lakes Rally, the Rally Sanremo of Italy, the Cote d’Ivoire Rally on the Ivory Coast and finally the Lombard RAC event in Great Britain. There are the World Championship Charts for 1984, 1984 European Championship for Rallies – Results, European Championship for Rallies – Leading Positions, British Championship, Rothmans RAC Open Rally Championship, Circuit of Ireland, Welsh, Scottish, Ulster, Manx, International Championship Rally Results from African Continent, Middle East etc…National Championship Rally Results from Austria, Australia, Belgium, Brasil, etc and finally the year in retrospect.
