Lola's First - The Definitive History of the Mark 1

Until very recently, little had appeared in print concerning Britain's longest established and one of its most successful racing car manufacturers – LOLA. Yet, over the last 40 years, there is hardly a motor racing formula that has not been graced by a model from Lola. The list of memorable cars is considerable: The T70 coupes, Formula A and 5000 cars, the Mark 6 GT, years of CART/Indy car success, the sports racers of the 1970s and, not least, the Coventry Climax engined sports car that really started it all in 1958. This book fills an important part of that written void by recording the history of the early days and of that first car, which became known as the Mark 1, with reprints of the track tests reproduced from Autosport and Sports Cars Illustrated magazines, along with individual chassis histories. The Lola Mark 1 established both the Company and the reputation of its designer, Eric Broadley. Without the platform provided by the Mark 1, Lola Cars would probably not have achieved their place in the motor racing history of the second half of the twentieth century. LIMITED EDITION
