From the birth of the four cylinder Ferrari engine in 1951, this book records its development and model changes over the years, with coverage of the various cars in which they were used, or in the case of some of the latter engines, the test beds in which they ran. A fine selection of period images, have been used to illustrate the book, along with a number of sectional cut away drawings, for a variety of engines and component images such as conrods. The last pages of the book present a compiled list of sports car frame numbers for the 625 TF-S, 625 LM, 625 TRC, 500 Mondial 1st and 2nd Series, 750 Monza, 857S-860 Monza, 500 TR, 500 TRC.
