Starting with a brief look at the Silver Ghost, this book delivers a concise look at the Phantom range from the Phantom One of 1925 through to the Phantom Five introduced in 1959. The book offers details specifications, principle modifications, a varied array of illustrations to show the different styles of coachwork fitted to these chassis, as well as a look at the cars available from other manufacturers during each Phantom’s production period. The competitors of the Phantom one, being the likes of the 9 litre Minerva or the 32-34hp Daimler, the Phantom two had to contend with the Straight 8 Delage and 8 Litre Bentley, while in the post war period the Phantom 4 (of which there are very good engine bay photographs) had to compete against the likes of the luxurious models from Cadillac and Chrysler.
