A new era of Bentleys appeared in the 1980s and 90s, and with the success of the Mulsanne Turbo and Turbo R, the Continental R was placed to be a great winner for the company. Following in the footsteps of the R Type Continental produced in the1950s which had the claim to fame of being the world’s fastest four seater saloon of its day, this was the start of the Continental Range which was to live through the S1, S2 and S3 models. In this publication by Jurgen Lewandowskis, the focus is on the Continental R, however the journey starts with a look to the early Continental models and the motor show car produced for Geneva in 1985 ‘Project 90’, which would show the shape of things to come. Well illustrated, the book looks at the styling exercises and drawings, following the development through to press produced and body manufacture to the finished article. There are details of the engine, front and rear suspension sub frames which along with full specification information, give a detailed view to this new classic. Limited edition of 2500 copies, which includes a Blue print drawing of the Bentley of the radiator shell code named Nepal.
