Men like Harley Earl, Ed Cole and Zora Arkus Duntov developed the Corvette, and racers like Bob Bondurant, Dick Guldstrand, Roger Penske, Dave MacDonald and Dick Thompson made the Corvette famous on the racetrack. It also profiles fabled drivers like John Greenwood, A.J. Foyt, Jim Hall, Stu Hayner, Doc Bundy and John Fitch. In their Sting Rays, Grand Sports, Super Sports and Showroom Stock Corvettes, they competed against Jaguars, Porsches, the dreaded Cobras, and even other Corvettes in the great Corvette Challenge. Author Gregory Von Dare has included racers' first-person driving impressions of the cars and their race accounts from circuits like Road America, Sebring and Le Mans.
