The illustrated focus of the book is a 2.5 Litre Jaguar SS 100, Chassis number 49022 Registration RNH 75, from the Karuizawa Classis Car Museum in Japan. It is presented in a fine series of atmospheric images from all angles, to display the fine lines of this prewar machine. The text is both in Japanese and English, and gives a technical commentary on the background to Jaguar’s prewar high performance and low price SS Sports car. Offered with two engine size options 2.5 and 3.5 litre, a sturdy and sporty chassis, and fine styling. Impressions of the SS on the road are also presented. Also published is a brief history of Jaguar by American Strother MacMinn, which is illustrated with a selection of additional SS images including a restored 1937 SS100 chassis which was presented at the Peacock Gap Country Club concours de’elegance in August 1964.
